Mother and Son Graduates

Arkansas High School Collegiate Academy student Dawson Hinds graduated alongside his mother, Amber Walker, from the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT). Their

graduation marked a proud, emotional moment—a culmination of determination, sacrifice, and unwavering family support. Together, Dawson and his mother walked across the commencement stage, embodying the spirit of persistence and the transformative power of education.

Dawson began his journey at UAHT in 10th grade through the Arkansas High Collegiate Academy, earning college credit before his mother enrolled. The two formed a powerful academic partnership grounded in mutual encouragement and a shared vision for the future. Dawson will pursue a bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Arkansas, while Amber continues her education through the ARNEC program at UAHT to achieve her goal of becoming a labor and delivery nurse.

Their story is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams—and that success is even more meaningful when shared with those you love.
